Hey guys,

I've always had small tanks, but since glasscages will be in my town for a show, and i'll actually be home, its a good time to jump up to a 135g tank and start to keep smallish tankbusters. (I think the 125g wide at 72x24x17 will be a lil short, compared to the 72x18x25 135g-- although is someone has a good reason to go for the wider, shorter and less gallon tank i'm all ears)

I know I want to do a wet/dry so I'm going to have overflow boxes and holes cut.

Would i be fine with just 1 overflow or should I get 2? ALso would be better to have the overflow at the side or in the middle or doesnt it matter?

Also how much should the overflow, actually flow? 600- 700g per hour?

I wish I could afford the 180g but by the time i get the lid and other stuff, that gets pretty $$$.

Thanks!!

wide is better..... trust me

got with 2 one on each side... about 350-500GPH each side

So with tank sizes, i have 3 options then..

120 Gal. 48 x 24 x 25
135 Gal. 72 x 18 x 25
125 Gal. Wide 72 x 24 x 17

I thnk that the 6' tank would look more impressive but its barely taller than my 20g i have now.

I'll get quote requesting 2 overflows. I can plumb then together into the same drip tray though, correct? or do I need 2 media towers?

120 Gal. 48 x 24 x 25
135 Gal. 72 x 18 x 25
either will be nice

125 Gal. Wide 72 x 24 x 17
17 is pretty short
i had one like this
nice tank but next to a 24"+ it looked really short

one drip tray is all you need
if you got the 120 you could get by with one overflow and save $60-$80

Thats what i figured, plus the subtracting a frame, the viewing size is probably even smaller.

18" wide should be adequate for a smaller species of birchir? or should I just go with the 4' tank thats wider and just as tall? I'm just worried that dual overflows in the 4' will take up a bunch of space.
