Calculated the capacity of my tank at 200l, and have just started stocking really, in the last few weeks.

Have a breeding pair of Jewel Cichlids, Both around 3 1/2 inches,
Two Firemouths- 2 1/2 inches
One Pim Pictus catfish- 4 inches
2 peacock or Orange Blotch Cichlids, Male 3 inch, Female 2 inches
A couple of loach (Pakistani?)
And recently took one small Texas Cichlid and two small Jack Dempseys
which are doing well. Is this tank going to be overstocked when all the Cichlids grow up, or do i need to thin it out? Any advice appreciated.

200l is about a 55 gal right? If so that will be very overstocked. The Jack Dempseys alone will fill up that tank.

Yer overstocked IMO .

120Gal + would be better to keep all these fish togeather .

Definitely overstocked.

Sorry guys i missed the '1' off of 153cm on the conversions. Its 149 gallons, better? Can anyone envisage any problems with the fish that are living together? fights etc etc? thanks

149 UK or 149 US?
Either way, if you watch the nitrate accumulation and respond appropriately, you'll be fine. Keep an eye on the dempseys, but lately all I see are cowardly dempseys. You should try to keep your nitrates below 40ppm, ideally below 20ppm for optimum immunity and growth potential. Your tank will be quite the showpeice. Your taste for fish is refined and affordable at the same time, my friend.

I used the conversion tables at the top of the page so i assume that is US gallons. The dempseys are probably the smallest at the moment and do get chased a bit, the little Texas dosnt seem to get any problems, even from the Jewels who are guarding a new batch of eggs.

with the size tank now corrected, it should be ok, but I would still avoid having too many pairs of cichlids, as it will limit tankmates due to aggression
