Overstocked Tank --- Clean-up Suggestions

Tank => 980L / 260 Gallons

I plan to remove the fish highlighted in RED

Would this bring my stock down to a respectable level (for the time being) ?
I know I will be needing much more space as my fish grow

2x Small Oscars
1x Smaller Oscar
8x Small Red-Tail Tinfoil Barbs
1x Small Hi-Fin Pangasius
2x Sub-Adult Silver Dollars
2x Adult Buenos Ares Tetra
4x Small Pangasius Sharks
1x Small Sun Catfish
1x Small RTC
1x Medium Pleco
1x Small Silver Arowana
 
Id remove the rtc you said youd be moving them to a bigger tank but with the rtc I think it will take care of your stock pretty quickly I hate to be the bearer of bad news but......
 
The tetras and silver dollars are fine IF you like them. Actually, you should keep them in larger groups if you like them. Obviously, the main culprits to your overstocking are going to be the big catfish and the arowana. The arowana will do just fine for quite a while in that size tank (depending on dimensions), but the RTC will create problems with how quickly it grows and its appetite.
 
I know about the RTC's potential size & it's growth rate, but my one is still VERY small, about 10cm. I am watching him very closely though, to monitor his growth rate. For the time being, my main concern is keeping the aro & rtc, i would rather move every other fish, than those 2 :(
 
I know how big they get, in the wild & in captivity, mine wouldn't match that monster lol. Seriously though, im already busy with a tropical pond, should be done in 2-3 months :)
 
Your tank would be fine for all the other fish except the arrowanna and RTC. Since you like the 2 largest just keep them till the pond is ready for the rtc and hope it doesn't attack the arrowanna.

It can, and most likely will.
 
If the Small Hi-Fin Pangasius is a paroon shark than that is your biggest worry.
