Well I found some more Oscars, I found a 3.5" Tiger to go in with my Albino and GT in the 20 long.

However I also found 3 1" Tiger/Red Oscars and could not pass them up.

My 120 gallon is going to be 6 Oscars(I want a breeding pair) and 5 Clown loaches so I went ahead and bought 5 1.25" C loaches.

I went to petsmart asked for 5 Clown loaches and only got charged for one.

The bag clearly had the item # X 5 clearly marked but the girl only charged one. I don't know I guess she messed up.

So I don't want to put the tiny oscars and loaches in with my bigger oscar because I already transferred the Giant Danios and he already ate 2 out of the 7 I put in there.

I knew I was going to massively overstock my 14 gallon tank so I bought an Eheim Ecco 2232 to put on there along with the AC30 that is already on it.:headbang2

a couple weeks ago my 14 gallon contained 4 1.5" Convicts, 3 1" Oscars, and 5 1.25" Clown loaches.:nilly:

Water parameters are all great and I keep doing 25% water changes every 2 days to keep nitrates down to 0 close to it.

I have had this setup for about almost two weeks now and I have noticed a few things, my convicts were not really growing that fast and would not eat all that much when they were the only fish in the tank.

Now that I have all these fish in the tank, the convicts, oscars, and clown loaches have all grown and they are all nice and plump and all the fish are very competitive when it comes to feeding time.

The diet consists of Hikari Gold, Hikari SCP, NLS 1mm sinking pellet, and shrimp pellets.

Currently, almost all the fish are pushing the 2" mark so I am guessing that the constant water changes are the reason for the growth.

I tried feeding the Clown loaches some cucumber but they ignored it.

The oscars get live crickets too from time to time.

Once the Oscars and clown loaches hit the 3" mark or close to it they along with the eheim will go to the 20 long.

My 120 should be setup and cycled within a month if all goes well.

Let the flaming begin lol...

6 oscars in a 120?....
:S

Until they pair up. Then I will only have the pair in there. Plus they will grow up in the 120 they won't be full grown.

I don't see it being an issue..
Are you planning to breed clown loaches?

No I just like the combination of Oscars and Clown Loaches.

Best of luck to you texs. That sounds like a ton of bio load I am a bit worried about what happens when the fish grow out. Keep up with the water changes bud :)

Thanks man. The Eheim is full of eheim bio media so I am not too worried.

The 14 is only a grow out tank until the 120 is setup and cycled.

Once the oscars pair up I will only keep 2 and hopefully they don't wait until they are 12" to pair up.

Water changes in my opinion are crucial to rapid growth.

don't trust any smaller fish the size of the oscar's mouth so I wouldn't put together, save those loaches! no matter how much you feed them, oscars are cannibals!! have you seen the lyretail albino oscars? those are kool.

sounds like its sketchy but plausible. best of luck. but what are you doing with the other oscars once they pair up

Try to find them a good home. If that fails then I will get a bigger tank.:D

I mean I have only been fish keeping for about 3 months and I already have a six foot tank waiting for my fish who are not even 4" yet.

So when the time comes to "get rid of" my excess Oscars, I might have to delve into the world of acrylic...460 sounds nice...:naughty:
