overstocked?

Is my tank overstocked

40 gal BRD

3.5 inch female salvini
3 inch female firemouth
2.5 inch male convict

there is no aggression problems besides a little chase here and there. If im overstocked what would be the best solution besides getting rid of them. I would like to keep at least two.

how large will the female salvini. Im guessing about 6 or 7 inches. Also would it be because of biomass of the fish or the overall size of the tank and territory.

It doesn't sound too bad to me. If you become 'overstocked', it is going to be because of aggression. Salvinis can be mean b@stards, but you will probably be able to house them in the 40 for a while.

would 55 gallon be ok for all of them together. How long could they all be in the 40 gallon for. I can get a 55 gallon no problem but i just got to save a little money since I'm only 14 and can't really work yet. I know for sure i can get it but it is a matter of time.

Actually, I have the disease, when I was your age, it started with a small tank, then the disease spread.

Sal's are sweet, and you have some time, but the faster you are on it, the better for your fish!

i think the only overstocking would be from breeding,you have three compatible fish,if you got two females and a male.iv heard of cons breeding with salvinis and firemouths,so there might be an orgy in your tank one day,you never know
