Overstocked?

I have 4 african cichlids in a 30 gallon is it overstocked? can i put one more in?! can someone please help.

Throw some hiding spaces at least 1 good one per fish and you will be o.k. What are the dimensions of the tank? That is the key.

Depends largly on what kind. If it's like a smaller- medium species you should be fine. If it's like a frontosa then no.
 
Yeah, you can. I'd avoid the convict though. African and SA tend to fight.
Then again, in all honesty Ive kept africans goldfish and rams together.
 
i think it would be o.k to add another african, but more importantly you must add some rock structure, for hiding and security. Also you can "overstock" african tanks almost as safely as salt water fish tanks.
 
Another small African would be OK, depending on what species you are keeping now. What do you have?
