whats the max number of mixed african cichlids that i can put in a 55 Gallon to keep aggression low but still keep them comfortable

It depends on the species, but in my 75 I think 12-15 average adult sized is well stocked. So in a 55 I would say 10-12 would be a decent stock. Again it really depends on the species you want to keep and you can get more juvies and weed them out as they get older.

anything less then six they will start claiming a spot in the tank so i would stay 6 or more. I had like 12 before but you got to vac all the time because it gets messy but the agg is at the min.
