overstocking?

I wouldn't put the cat in there but the rest sounds fine. I'm not a big fan of having anything longer than 6 inches in a tank that only has 12 inches of width. I've seen the raph cats as big as 8"-9".

I agree with Chris, stock only the cichlids and I think it will work. Perhaps a few dithers but not much since the cichlids will fill the tank up pretty well themselves. Keep an eye on nitrAtes and water quality as the rams are sensitive to this, so might be the apistos.

I think what you have is good. If the raphael cat ever gets over 8" then you should probably get him in a bigger tank, but it will probably take a while for it to get there, if it does.

fast moving tetras or danio or smallish barbs. my krib pair try and beat up my leopard danio, gold barbs and something else fast i have (but forgotten!) the get out of the way pretty quick when they have to.... ooh i have cherry barbs! thats what it was.:grinno: we have a cockatoo dwarf cichlid (apisto...) in our large tank at work, he killed his girlfriend and the other pair of dwarf cichlids, he usually leaves every one else alone (assortment of tetras) but he has a go at the 25cm pleco occasionally. that is funny to watch.i tell him off but he takes no notice. have fun.

I would definately loose the Raphael catfish. I had one once, it was only 3 inches long, but it had a big appetite and a mouth to boot and ended up eating my tetras at night. Remember nothing smaller than what can fit in its mouth. Other than that thumbs up.. Post pics when you get it up and in place..
