Just rescued a 6-7'' oxydoras niger from a 20 gallon long on craigslist. I placed him in my 150 with the fei feng, firemouth, green terror, corys, and tinfoil barbs. He seems to like it in theire very much. He's a very active fish. Person thought he was a cory and that he overgrown... lol... I said thats an oxydoras niger....:nilly: I am wondering if he paid cory price for this guy??
Anyway, I was wondering how fast will this guy grow? And how long can I have him in a 150.

i recently saw a "large" 5 incher for $40 in a pet store.
from seeing this cat in the forums, they get huge!
 
nice pick up. every now an then u can get some sweet deals
 
biggest ive seen was 46in owned by a girl on here, she devoted an entire tank to it and her firtrack eel and she could pet it
 
LOL, what do these guys eat?
 
Fed mine frozen smelt and omnivore pelets but id imagine anything they can fit in there mouth that ain't hard to catch. When he was 8in he was eating 4in smelt. He'd take them on from the head and just push them in and out of his mouth like a popsicle until it was gone.... anything he left on the floor of my tank was eaten by my pleco, even smelt. The pleco would just strip it down to the spinal column.
 
Ok thanks, I haven't seen him eat yet thats why I was asking.
 
I dint see mine eat for the first 3 months I had him.... try defrosting some bloodworm or krill cubes, sucking them up un a turkey baster and squirting it infront of his face.... I used to defrost the cubes and feed them to my jurenese with a spoon
