Out Back In The Woods!
Getting Ready to ship out a Fish to a friend Up coming Monday and got everything that i need to ship out the fish but oxygen(o2) but i got an oxygen(o2) source lined up.. my ? is when puttin Oxygen(o2) in the Bag do i need to put it below the surface of the water?? or just in the bag in general??? The LFS said they just pump it into the bag and ship them out like that... was also told by the Local Bait store that you inject the oxygen(o2) below the surface of the water then fill the bag with more oxygen... so which is the proper way to place oxygen(o2) in the bag to ensure the fish survives... its trek to its new owner

Just inject into the bag. The agitation the bag gets during shipping will promote O2 transfer into the water. Keep in mind to only put enough water to completely cover the fish upright. Warm water only holds about 3-4% dissolved O2. The 100% injected into the bag should easily get the fish to its destination. If possible, do not feed the fish for a couple/few days prior to shipping. This will help in preventing the fish from dropping its waste in the bag. The bacteria in the waste will use up alot of O2.
