i get some fish behavior with my tsn , where the jets spray into the water he will spend ages swiming stationary facing the jets ,, i think i need to try and get more oxygen into the water unless this is normal, its been happening on and off for a week now,, maybe its nothing and i worry too much ,,

nitrite 0 nitrate 20 ph 6.8/7.0 ammo 0

tank just recovering from a week of melafix that mended fins ,, still a bit cloudy but water changing 20%+ daily

running a 2080 ehiem with spray bar a inch above water pointing 45 degrees

i dont think you can have too much oxygen soooo apart from airstones that are not really proven to work (or do they?) what other actions can be taken to increase the oxygen?

airstones dont work?:WHOA:

from Wikipedia about melfix and pimafix:

What problems might it cause?
Rarely some bacteria that are not affected by the oil may instead see the oil as food. This could cause a bacterial bloom making your water cloudy and/or removing oxygen from the water. To prevent low oxygen increase aeration during use. If you notice your fish gasping at the surface do a large water change and discontinue use. Read article 'Melafix and Pimafix - How They Work and Don't Work' for more detail.

this explains the oxygen depletion that I have heard about and seen years ago with my own fish..

I would just do a normal water change..if you have jets spraying into the water you should be getting lots of gas exchange...once you remove some of the residual medication, everything should be cool..

wonderful ,, i thought it may have been the melafix ,, that also explains the cloudy ness ,, i will go do another big water change to keep on top of it then ,, the cloud is actually thinning over the last 2 days so i am not gonna worry as much now ,,
