I am looking for more information on this topic. Here in South Africa we can get Ozone generators but there is very little, or none, information regarding how much, for how long or whatever other question you might have on the topic.
I have 12000l of water in my Pet Shop and want to treat it with Ozone. How much should I be putting into the air system and for how long should I have it on each day?:confused:
I have a further 5000l at my home and would also like to run a similar setup.
Ozone can be poisonous if the concentration level gets too high!!!!:eek:
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT AND DIRECT ME TO A SITE WHERE i CAN GET THE RELVANT INFORMATION!:D

Where to start...:( I guess the best place to start is by appologizing for about to sound like an arrogant know-it-all. The fact is that the information that is out there is mostly wrong. I have no idea how an industry can rise and evolve around a product/concept and not know the properties of the product...but this is what has happened with ozone. I didn't do the research and wasn't there when it was done, but I did work for the man that did. When I worked for him, he owned a water recycling company (very large scale). One of the early thorns in his side was working with the information that the ozone industry was giving him. It turned out that they were tossing information back and forth, and no one was doing any research to verify if the information was correct. It is said that the effects of ozone are instantaneous, but this assumption did not return satisfactory results. My boss set out to do the research and found that it actually took three minutes of contact time to kill all bacteria and have a throrough oxidizing effect. I used this knowledge when I designed my ozone system. My generator produces very little ozone, but it turned out to still be too much. I now only run it for about 12 hours for every week to week and a half.
Here is my system:

You can get an ozone generator with an ORP controller at http://www.aquaticeco.com/

My former employer's name is Harley Pattee and is now in the ozone business at http://CompleteOzone.com He had been advertising the use of ozone for aquarium systems, however I think he got that idea from me. He isn't a fish nerd like I am. He didn't have an aquarium system the last time I had visited his web site.

Chompers, Thanks for the reply. Yes, it seems as though those who build and supply these generators cannot give you information relvant to your requirements.
I am looking for the type of info that tells me how much in need, how long I need to run the unit for the various volumes of water I have.
My Pet Shop has about 11-12000 litres and I have a single air sytem that I would like to add the ozone to!
I have just recently bought a small generator, 100mg/H, and run this for about 8-10 hrs on a volume of water between 750-1000litres!
The one thing my very brief instruction manual tells me is that the ozone needs to be in contact for a fairly short period of time.
I will try and make contact with your previous employer to find out if he can advise on a way forward or not.
TRhanks once again, much appreciated.:naughty::ROFL::headbang2:nilly::)
