Hi.
Not too clued up on Cichla, but picked up 3 juvis today.
They are a little over 1" in length.

I am guessing it will be to early to be able to I.D them, but I thought there might be some clues that YOU experts may recognize.

So here are some pics incase anyone can I.D them:

Cheers for any help!

To small to ID and I'm not the one that could ID them anyway. You need to start feeding those guys now and several times through out the day. Baby cichla are very sensative and those are already skinny.

Lol, I've just had bad luck with any really small skinny cichla. Give them all the feeder guppies they want and hopefully they will fatten up a little and do well for you.

Id say either mono or occel.

That makes two of us!

You have to make sure everything is perfect with these babies because they get ich with the slightest imperfections. What a nightmare when I had my first baby monos a while ago.

Ditto, and like someone else has mentioned, I would start pumping those guys with blackworms and guppies asap. Cichla that small and that skinny is a dangerous combination. If they won't eat the blackworms, feed them nutrition enhanced brine. Make sure your temp is high, 87+

Hi so a few days in, the 3 little ones seem to be doing pretty good.
They are very active and have a great personality.

I am feeding them 3 times a day right now (morning, afternoon and evening) on frozen blood worms. I feed as many as they will eat in each sitting. Their little bellies get nice and fat each time.

Are blood worms sufficient at this stage?
I ask because I am trying very hard not to use live feeders in any of my tanks if I can.
