I have a gravel bed in my P-Bass bass tank, and i'm thinking of changing it to Black Sand, what are the Pro's and Con's of Sand, and how the hell do you clean it, using a Python, won't it suck up all the sand, please help me decide, before i get rid of my existing gravel....Thanks in advance.

personal preference. but i never clean my sand. it doesnt trap gunk like gravel does. most of it will just stay right on the surface of the sand

yeah it does.......well at least that what happens with my sand. When my pbass fly around all the gunk flies everywhere if i dont siphon the stuff out.

pick any subtrate you like, the only problem with sand if your Hang on the back filters when the intake is low, or any intake not just HOB. having an external/internal over flow helps.

Unipac sands are good. The grains are slightly larger than normal sand so you don't get it wafting around or up your filters. I got this sand when I bought my rays and I love it.
