How many hours should i leave the tank light on for...........

I use blue actinic lighting, and i keep it on about 14 hours with no algae buildup. The clear though, your definitely going to get it. Normally I would say 6-8 hrs. Get yourself a timer

i leave mine on the hours im awake its on a timer its 6700 k power compact i added a bn pleco and a few nerite snails and everything is under control

on the tanks that actually have light fixtures.. the lights are on timers set for about 6 hours. and they come on one after the other, they are not on at the same time.
