I recently picked up a group of P. gymnothorax and I had a few questions. Are they best kept in a group or as a single specimen? How big do they actually get? ( found conflicting info about this) and lastly is why didn't anyone tell me about these gorgeous things!?

I have 3 and have them with some small fish. Not aggressive and are not picky eaters. Not sure the max size, sorry. Im guessing 2-3'

A Google search says they can get close to 5 feet, probably not in an aquarium though

Ya I had found a few sites that said 5 feet and a few that said 3 feet. I guess 3 feet is more likely in aquaria. They are an awesome species. And aren't shy compared to most eels I've owned. They cruise around the tank lots.
