First pic is my male. He's about 8.5¨ right now and he was about 5.5¨ when I got him 4 1/2 - 5 months ago.

Second pic is my female (the lighter hystrix, other people call them "white hystrix"). She's around 7¨ and was about 4.5¨ when I got her together with the male.

Congratulations.. very, very nice
I quite like the female...

What other surprises are you hiding there?

Thanks a lot :) Oh well, other than the Hystrix (wallacei to be exact) pair, the new BD pair, my Bluebase Crossback Aro and 4 new red spotted Heros I still have my old stock. My big fat 12¨ 3 bar Dat and my 9¨ L24 pleco.

off topic: My plan is to keep the Bluebase Aro, the L24, the 3 bar Tiger, the BD pair (possibly get a 2nd female) and the 4 Heros red spotted in the 490g. For the Hystrix (wallacei) pair and a nice group of Geophagus winemilleri (a group of 6 that I want to buy soon) I'd like to build/buy a 360g tank by the start of 2018, which is also when at least my Hystrix male should be mature already - his claspers do almost look ready.

Nice severums..I also have some, like their peaceful nature and brighten up the tank
I like the combinations you planning, its more or less what i have only exception is the pleco, i dont have
My son had 2 at various stages (not sure the species) but they kept harassing the rays slime coat so he had to move them
Instead of the plecos, we both have clown loaches, they big so they not intimidated and we have found that the clowns and the rays develop an unbelievable relationship to the point where, the clowns sit on the ray and the ray takes them surfing (if you can call it that) across the tank, They actually inseparable
My geos are awesome and my dats also dont bother anyone so its pretty calm combination

Nice hystrix. Are they wild caught or captive bred?
