Someone near me was advertising leopoldi angelfish. I made enquiries and will attach the photos he sent me. I don't think these are P. leopoldi are they? also they came from Peru where P. leopoldi does not occur. But looking online I found that the "Peru Altum" (Rio Nanay Scalare) is sometimes sold as " leopoldi" so maybe that is what these are? I am not sure if they are wild caught or commercially bred, but if they are common domestic angelfish they are very expensive. Can anyone confirm please?

Nice fish. IMHumbleO, neither one looks like Long nose angels (P. Dumerillii = Leopoldi). The fish in second photo (the same as one of the fish in third photo) is not a wild caught fish, but domestically bred, rather regular P. Scalare. Regarding the other fish, it is harder to tell, but it does not have the small brown dots typical of Peruvian “altums” (also scalare), nor does it have the strong predorsal notch, also typical. I would also say it is tank bred, but closer to wild type. Again, nice fish.

Thank you, that was more or less what I was thinking...
