I have a 100 gallon tank that I just finished setting up. Pool filter sand is the substrate along with pieces of malaysian driftwood and rock structures for hiding. I have 4 convicts, 1 oscar, 1 JD, 2 socolofi (one blue and the other snowy) previously in a 30 gallon tank together for about a month. When I first introduced the socolofi (along with others) my snowy white would pace up and down a lot, but then it stopped doing it after about 3 days. I now have them in the 100 gallon and it is pacing again. None of the other fish are pacing though. I was curious what this could relate to... maybe just the stress of the fresh transfer or...? Thanks again guys.

i see some of my fish doing exactly that whenever i rearrange my tank

in my opinion, its just them checking out theyre new environment

I would not recommend keeping the socolofi in with a Oscar or Jack Dempsey as those two alone will take up most of the territory in the tank. The also have varying water requirements. I my experience its not good for SA and African cichlids to be mixed.
Mbuna which is what the socolofi are depend on a lot of green in their diet or they get bloat and the other in your tank need a lot of meat. Your socolofi will probably end up as snacks or get bloat.
