In my experience of seeing them for sale on here in the past they go for less than 30 bucks. never kept one so the growth rate would be told by someone more experienced than me.

I've seen one only once at Shark Aquarium in NJ. 14". Bought for $180. It would not eat anything I offered it. I could not break him and lost him - broke my heart. Since he was in a community tank, I didn't offer anything live. Perhaps that could have saved him, but I was not willing to risk introducing a decease to my large community. Another reason to have a quarantine tank and quarantine new fish.
Don't you still just have a 20g? where are you going to put all these fish your planning on buying?
I'm not buying them now I'm getting a bigger tank soon I'm jut researching fish before I think about getting them I thought it was cool so I'm asking questions
