P tankmate?

Plecos are probibly a better thing to try. Even them are defintly a hit or miss. Ive kept gaint danios with my reds for 6 months without any losses intill I put exodons in with them. Exos polished off the danios quick. I have a bristle pleco pair in with my manny. They paired though while the reds were in the tank but then I swapped them with my manny. But the manny never ate them. So I have a ton of fry now haha. Some are an inch long already.

always risky too keep a pred fish with tankmates, Best bet might be too try a none aggressive nocturnal catfish species like Striped Raphael catfish, piranha are diurnal so a cleanup fish cruising around at night who wont get aggressive and wake them will have the highest chance of success.

hope that helps.

Might have to try that. I have a couple raphaels in another tank that are bigger than the p's

Have kept a solo 2" jack Dempsey with my group of 3 red bellies for the past 3 months. My flatmate put it in my tank overnight cause he didn't like the look of it...for some reason the P's have never even fin nipped it. Pretty sure this is pure luck though.

I knew someone who kept both JD and RBP together in 1970's.:). Also knew someone who kept a Red Devil with a Gold Piranha, they were OK for awhile until RD decided to lip lock with GP.

It's a gamble. Even plecos and Raphael catfishes are not safe with the piranhas.
