ok, came home today and looked at my new rhom, he seems to be missing the teeth on his lower jaw on 'his' left side.
has he broke them on something?
bashed his mouth and got swelling making the teeth not visable?
or fell out?
lol
do they get new teeth?
 
it could have been any number of things, most likely he hit the glass too hard. he'll grow new ones, just give him a few days
 
that is one of the interesting things about piranha teeth, because their teeth fit together so perfectly if they lose one they will lose them all (not sure if it is all on one row or all of them), otherwise they would not fit back together, interesting to me anyways. let us know how long it takes for them to grow.
 
piranhas will lose teeth through out their entire lives...naturally. they lose them in quarters. for example...they will lose their lower left side, then their lower right side. i have about 2-3 dozen teeth from my rhom.

seems they are starting to grow already. wow at least something on a rhom grows quick
 
lol just noticed hes lost his top left half of teeth now. do they still eat when their mouths are in this condition? its hard for me to tell because ive only had him 2 days so hes probly refusing food anyway

i have noticed that mine wont feed as much after losing teeth...
