As promised the P14 development pics. P14 patterns can differ a lot also, personally I love a good quality big spot variant. By selecting the right parents it is possible to influence this pattern to a certain degree.

It's hard to predict the quality of P14's in the first months of their lives. As an example, you can see the pattern of a just born pup in the breeding facility below. The left photo shows the pup in his youth pattern, with only the edge spotting giving an indication of its potential. The next two pictures show the pup approximately 6 months later and swimming happily in the tank of a customer. The pup is slowly turning black and the dots are getting huge (seem to keep growing every day).

Selecting good parents is crucial, especially the breeding male must be fantastic in my opinion. Here is a picture of one of the big spot breeding males (pure F2) in the breeding facility.

I'll try and post some development pictures of black diamond pups I've bred soon :)

Thanks for the info Beun ! but i think you post the 1, 3, & 4 step & miss out the 2 step,
The below pic show is second step of the transformation!

Thanks for the addition, very nice pup! I agree that there is a phase in between as you show :)

This development is shown more clearly with the variant with many smaller spots, as I also breed. The P14 variant with extremely big spots doesn't show this 2nd step as clearly. These big spot P14 end up with spots that can be almost 1 cm in diameter.

Very Very nice rays!!! WOW...

so say at 3-4 month of age, any pictures to share of what one can expect? SawX posted the one picture, but isn't that around 2 months or so?

Funny, I just found your website yesterday Beun. And, your a MFK member also, sweet. I assume you can deliver to the US? hint hint wink wink!

@keepinfish: 5 to 6 months is the best, but the older they get the clearer the potential gets :)

@Gbusiness: yes, shipped all over the world, also to the US several times.

My name is Lode by the way, I started an account here on MFK a few years back and don't know how to change my nickname from Beun to Lode :p
