I have 2 paccu about 1.5 feet long . . one of them developed an ulcer on the face above the mouth . . I thought it would heal but after 2 days it got infected. It has strands like cottonwool on it . . Is that fungal ? what medicines ca i use ? I have moved it to a separate tank and used salt

The PIC is before it got infected

If it looks cotton-like or thread-like, its most likely fungal. If possible, it would be best to move him to a quarantine tank, give him some anti-fungal meds, aquarium salt, and fresh water changes 2-3 times a week. Vary the diet with pellets and maybe add some leafy plant material. Should heal up in a few weeks. GL :)

I would give him jungle fungus clear, that should help him. Keep the water EXTREMELY clean.

My pacu got sick and she did not eat for a month, I kept her water clean, kept tempature at 84 degrees, put antibiotics in her water everyday, did water change every other day, and finally after 30 days she started eating. She is doing GREAT !! She is about 18" or bigger.

Kick up your temperature and your salt levels in the tank. Offer her a high quality diet, and do HUGE water changes...I would steer clear of medications if you can.
