Scombs are cool till they die. Don't waste your time. Hydrolycus Tatauaia (Tats) are great schooling fish although I am unaware of anyone that has managed to keep a shoal together till they get big. Most people just opt for an Armatus. I currently have 4 Tats with 2 Rhaphs and a small Armatus. Everything seems OK for now. The Tats definetly have a pecking order though. I catch them charging and punking eachother every now and then.

Tats usually go for $50-$70 for 4-6 in. Yellow tails bring a little bit more. Do your homework on them though....they ship very poorly, so you'll need to be ready when they arrive.

I've seen big ones brought in for $125....for 10-12 inch

And the Armatus......They seem to vary on personalities. Most people have obtained them when rather large, so maybe raising a small one with tankmates may yield a different result.....esp. if the diet is different. Time will tell. We all know they work with rays though.

ive had my armatus, redtail, and two rhaphs togeother now for a few months and they seem to be doing good. i think it deffinatly helped that my armatus was a baby when i got him. he is gettin more and more aggressive as hes gettin older. i just added a bichir and they are doin good 2. it wont last long though cuz the armatus is gettin 2 big and hates when other fish get too close to him
