well, today I'm going to ship my 16" mono, and I guess you guys are the ones to ask, the temperature is around 32 degrees F 0 degrees C and I will personally transport him to the train station, this will take at most 1 hour.
after this he will travel in room temperature for a maximum of 5 hours.

I got the Styrofoam box and a plastic bag inside of it. so far so good. of course I read the sticky on shipping fish but I thought you guys would be the ones to ask. so, will I need the oxygen tablets, will I need to pack him with some sort of heater (like warm bottles of water) basically what need I do?

Oxygen 02, and heat packs to be safe... Also do not feed for 4-5 days, prior to shipping or in your case.. Transporting... LOL

Yeah all that and make sure the water is VERY CLEAN......or else very bad things will happen. Good luck :)

any updates?

well... since you guys decided to chime in late :irked: (eyeballing y'all without recognizing my own responsibility for putting this thread up just 6 hours before transporting the fish)

I was left to my own judgement, I packed him in a styro box 16x18x16 with oxygen tablets in it just after I did a wc. also a black plastic bag inside the box. tot weight 15 kg+ he needed no tranq or anything what so ever. now he is in the other guys tank! hoping to put up pics as he sends them!

glad to hear it made it alright...looking forward to pix

thanks man, yeah, I'll post as soon as the other guy gives me pics..
