Packing Peanuts for Filtration

Well i have alot of these laying around i was wondering if any one new if the would be a good media in a w/d

Most of the new packing peanuts are water soluble. Not really good since they will disintegrate in an hour or so.

I agree, not a good choice for media. Plus, they float.

Low surface area, sometimes water soluble, generally not food grade. This equates to a bad choice.

They have chemicals that will break down in water and polute your tank.
