My store has two pacu that have gotten to be about 5-6 inches. The department manager wants me to adopt them. What do you think? I already have one in a 600 gallon pond.
I voted yes...that is if you want more pacu. Is it in the ghetto pond? How's that working for you heat-wise? I ask because I'm doing one next year and I'm still undecided whether to heat and keep trops or just keep it native.
But anyway back to pacu, if you've got the space I think monster pacu would be really cool.
Have an 800 watt titanium heater in and the water is currently staying in the mid to high 70's. It has dropped down to 65 and the pacu and friends huddled around the pumps overnight. The cold hasn't affected the silver dollars so far, they still swim everywhere.
you know your going to have your hands full now and you will need to grow a veggie garden for them.... but how can you say no???.... "three is awesome"... and your other guy will be so happy for the company... i cannot wait to see them and glad i do not work in a fish store...
i think you should take them in too! youll give them a better home than anyone else who would buy them.. like Liz said youll need tons of veggies for them too!
