Its not what you think. I am not asking how or when I should breed my Pacu. I have absolutely no intentions of doing so... However I would like to know when is the soonest they are capable of reproducing? One of my four Pacu is getting much rounder and larger than the others. I hope this is just a dominance issue and I wont end up with 300 feeders... They are approx. 5 months old.

If behavior is any indication; lately he/she(cant tell yet) is isolated on the right side of the tank. Eats much more than the others. Swims up and down frantically. And lately he/she is being provoked by the smaller ones and even the Tinfoil Barb... It is very round...Shockingly round. But I have only noticed this within the past 3 or 4 days. Overfeeding? Swimbladder? Dominance issue? Any input greatly appreciated!

5 months is not old enough for such a large fish to breed. Even at 5 months old it would not even be LARGE enough to be considered a "young adult" If it has not been eating more than the others, I would be concerned about an internal issue indeed. Fish don't become "fat" over a dominancy thing.
