What would you guys say the minimum thickness of glass my redbelly pacu would need, that he can't bust, for the next 2 years?:)

At least. Maybe 1". Figure with the size tank an adult pacu needs, you might need 3/4 inch glass on a tank that big/tall without even accounting for the pacu ramming it.

i keep pacu in a glass tank until their pool is ready, but i worry everyday about them breaking though. you ever see a 18-20" pacu charge full speed into a tanks side, when he has a few feet to gain speed??

counting the pressure glass is under with water alone, then the power of a pacu, i could never possibly feel safe with glass i dont think, nor tell anyone to keep pacu over say 10" in a glass tank. it wont be a matter of IF the pacu can break through, its WHEN. and i say that from keeping 4 of them.

and properly fed, a pacu will reach that 10" mark in a year.

if i had the choice, id go with as thick as possible acrylic. otherwise, i dont reccomend keeping the tank anywhere but a basement ;)

LOL-
Better forget the pool and find a lake to house four pacu's-

10 inch in a year-Damn I wish that was true-

Yes I have seen a 18 to 20 inch pacu swim at full speed-
Mines 24 inch and does multiple times daily.....Even get up to 5 to 10 gallons of water on my floor-It's fun to watch them play....

IKeep, any pics of that 250g. Nice list of fish. My Pacu is 22" and it hits HARD. Have you or anyone else heard of a Pacu knocking itself out? My sister had an 8" Jack Dempsey that smacked the tank hood and died instantly.
