Pacu growth rate

What Is the growth rate of a red bellied pacu?
 
I haven't measured mine, but it's growth Rate has been shocking. It's gone from smaller than all of my speckled SDs and tinfoils to much larger than all of them in about a month. I'd guess he's roughly doubled in size. I would guess he went from 1.5 to about 2.5- 3 inches in a month. He's an incredibly voracious eater though.

I was planning to grow it to like 15" than tak it somewhere, how long will that take?

i really think it will be there in one years time.. maybe sooner or maybe a little later.. other factors come into play.. how much you feed and how big the tank is for him/her to stay healthy and have the best growth rate.. but all in all it won't take long.. feeding the pacu a healthy diet consists of veggie diet with little protein too.. i love pacus.. my favorite fish.. they are playful and entertaining.. get into mischief if they are hungary.. like eat or chew on the tubes in the tank..etc.. they have an enormous appetite to go along with their growth rate.. mine would eat sliced up carrots and peas and nuts and zucchini .. you can hear them chew the crunchy veggies.. very cute..

the biggest tank i have is a 55 its the biggest i can have at the moment so i was thinking he could go in there? I just love pacus so much but i have nowhere else to put them!

i am sorry .. but it is extremely hard to get rid of a pacu.. not many people can accomodate one ..so you would be emotionally trapped... and even harder that you be watching your pacu suffer in such a small tank.. pacus for the most part are doomed.. whether we buy them or don't buy them.. very few can keep pacu a lifetime.. and they are tank busters.. so unless you can provide i would not purchase.. it is heartbreak eventually.
 
My advice.....don't buy pacu as it is not fair for the pacu when it get too big for your 55gal and there are no places to take him in.
