Hi everyone, I contacted a public aquarium for a home for the pacu later, the public aquarium is making an amazona display that is going to be finished 2010 so I can keep him for a year and when big donate him to a good home they are glad to take him, and since the whole public aquarium is new I may be able to buy many small fish that get giant sized and donate them later, HOW FUN :) :) :)

Yeah seriously...pacu are a dime a dozen, how many do you think they will get offered?

are you getting a gigas then?

watch you get attached to the fish and have to upgrade anyway lol

Don't count on it.

Agreed. It's not easy to donate animals. You have to have something that fits into the aquariums theme and most of the time has to be pure blood no hybrids. I called 5 zoos and aquariums in ohio to try and donate my old 27" RTCxTSN and no one would take him b/c he was a hybrid. But I did find him a home with another fish keeper.

With plants and animals man made hybrids are not usually in much demand with botanical gardens or public aquariums. A natural hybrid is a different story. I was refering to other big fish not more Pacus being grown and donated, I have contacted them again asking if they would be interested in more different types of fish later.

Sostoudt writes "you may have to upgrade" well i did already to a 300 and my home will not fit any bigger so im at a dead end there.
