pacu question??

No. Don't feed them goldfish or mice. People who feed these foods are only thinking about entertainment value for themselves; they are not thinking about the fish's health. Fresh fruits and veggies, cichlid pellets, and algae wafers are wonderful staples. Make sure you have a pond ready for when this guy reaches two or three feet. Good luck.

NO. They are vegitarians. Here's one that only ate cichlid pellets and algea wafers his whole life.
But do as you wish. Having a fish eating pacu is going to give you a lonely tank IMO!

I say no. You should feed them mostly veggies and pellets, and food meant for it. I feed mine veggies like nuts, carrots, cichlid staple, and sometimes a few pieces of shrimp. I havent had any problems with those foods, and my pacu looks very healthy.

Right, but it's not like he went to the store and bought the goldfish. He ate them because you put them in the tank. Goldfish cause health problems for a variety of reasons. Pacu are just fine with all of the previously mentioned foods; there's no reason to risk their health. This is what I was trying to get across in my initial response -- yes, they will eat these foods, but it is not in their best interest.

no, dont feed either of them to your pacu. theres no need what so ever. while i dont doubt in the wild, a pacu would turn down a baby rodent that may fall into the water, its not something that normal, or their digestive systems are used to dealing with.

in the wild, from what ive read, they favor fruits and nuts that happen to fall into the water, with the occasional crustacean or shrimp mixed in.

i think the best foods for a pacu would be spirulina wafers and a regular, cheap cichlid pellet. you can add in grapes and other fruits too to keep pacu's nice and healthy.

Thank you for all your help.. The reason they eat this can of food is cause i feed my gar, biara, bass, spotted catfish, tigershovel nose, and my asian red tail catfish does food

Oh no WTF are you doing feeding mice to any of your fish? I realize that a language barrier may exist here, but surely you can understand IT ISN'T WHAT THEY EAT. Please, please research on the fish you keep, and what they eat. None of your fish eat mice. Many of them do not eat goldfish. At least two of them need a POND and do not eat mice, but, in fact, readily accept pellets.
