Hi All,
new here & I hope I'm in the right forum 4 this. Up untill last wk., my oscar, pacu & jack dempsey got along very well. One day I came in 2 find the j/d & oscar in one corner of the tank & the pacu just swimming back & forth. It's been that way for 3 days now! Even at feeding (unheard of 4 my oscar) they stay cornered. Has the pacu totaly taken over or mite this be temporary? No visible bruises. If I place food in the area where they are , the j/d & oscar do eat but remain cornered. Even tried to move them out but they swim right back!!! They've been together about 8/9 months. I defer to the experts & aspire to you're greatness.

How big is the tank? andhave you tried moving your decor around so that they all have time to re-establish territory?

Thanx 4 the come-back. Pacu-9", Oscar-10" J/D-7" and no I havn't re-arranged the tank. Considered adding another piece of driftwood but wasn't sure if that would help?

How about if I remove the pacu to the observation tank for a day or so & then put him back or would that cause even more stress??

Just get rid of the pacu dude. He's gonna get way to big for that 110 and if he's pushing your other fish around, then there may not be anything you can do besides get rid of him

Ya Id just get rid of the Pacu. Try an trade him at a LFS or something.

O.K. It seems the general consensus is to lose the pacu. Call me optimistic but suppose I removed everyone from the tank, re-arranged it, then replaced them w/ the pacu added last. I guess it sounds silly but I've become somewhat attached watching him play & grow. I just want 2 try everything, short of stressing or harming these guys 2 see if they can get along before I pull the 'plug'. If you think this will do more harm than good, I'll wave the 'white flag'.Thanx so much 4 all your opinions.
Peace, MONEY

You could try upgrading your tank to MEGA size. But a 110 won't hold your pacu for life. It's really tough because I doubt you'll find somebody with a tank big enough to hold him. Kind of like a lose lose situation with most cases like this :(
