pacu with protruding eye

i bought a pacu from wal mart a month ago now he has a protruding eye whay is it and how can i fix it anyone help. he is by far th echeapest fish in the tank but i dont want other fish to catch what ever he has

Popeye maybe?!
Commonly caused by Ammonia and Nitrite overload.
Check ur water parameters.
Do a waterchange. Ur lfs can sell u medication for it too.

"popeye" is common i pacus, do a waterchange, add some meliflix, he will be fine in 24 hours

If it is a topical infection it is easily treated. If it is internal, this can be very difficult to treat but it is unlikely it will be spread. My oscar died from internal popeye infection, but the other fish never developed any symptoms.
