Anyone caught or heard someone caught the pacu in United States as Im curious how many pacu have been released in different states?

Sacramento, CA. Some fisher caught a big pacu. This was about 3-4 months ago if I'm not wrong. At first it was another "omg it's a piranha," but turned out to be a pacu.

Everglades, FL.

Mine was in Brainerd, Minnesota but it was a dead 13 inch long one. Seems Pacu is most common species to be released from their ex owner's tank.

ive heard of a few pacus and piranhas around here

pacu are produced in south florida but its done with hormones they cannot deal with the cold temperatures in most of north america and in places like in florida where they can live year round they can't breed so in esense there phisiologicaly castrated because the high PH and hardness in the water dosent allow them to spon.

My room mate in college caught a pacu that was close to 2ft long in Vincennes IN.

We called DNR but they didn't seem to care. They asked us if it was really a crappie LOL.

I find it funny when they caught a pacu and thought they were fish with human teeth or an oversized pirahna.

I remeber that. People are retarded. One for letting in go in a lake, then the fish and game for not knowing what a pacu looked like.
