do pacu lose their color when stressed my friends are silver in color and start turning whiteish when the lights are on but go back to almost black when the lights are off is this normal?

Yes they can lose color when stressed but they also lighten up when the lights are on because they are in a lighter environment. It is a natural behavior. And if they are getting stressed because the lights try putting them on a timer so the turn on and off at the same time everyday. Seems to help with the stress. And you can also try floating plants to dim the lights so they don't scare them as much.
