Hello everyone! I have a baby pic that is about 3.5-4 inches. He is eating well and will sometimes eat floating pond pellets. He mainly eats shrimp pellets(sinking) frozen krill(when it sinks but will hit is when it is still floating sometimes) and the occasional coming up for pond pellets. I have recently got some jumbo krill because I have heard it is good for them. Does anyone have tips on how to get my pacu to eat floating food consistently? Also I would like him to come to the glass when he sees me, any tips?

Thank you! God bless

Would suggest to wait and keep at it. Once bigger (won’t be long before it puts on size) it’ll become more bold and start coming to the glass for food etc. Won’t be picky either. My suggestion is to wait and keep the water clean.

keep in mind they get big and live a very long time.

Yes I have a custom tank and eventually a pond for him, he is currently in a 40 breeder with around 1000 gallons per hour of filtration

Thank you

Pacu lean towards vegetarianism as they age, and in nature are known to be great fruit and seed distributors. At a zoo where a friend was the aquatic curator, we used to feed pacu bananas, and figs.
