Hey whats up MFK! This is Flash, Down in the Holler! Ive been raising Red Belly Pacu's for almost a year. I have two Red Belly's that Do Not look the same.(One is bigger and has the tetra look, the other is sleeker narrower and not quite as tall, not to mention he has more black than red). They have grown up together in a 55 gallon and out grew each other as well as the tank. So I had to seperate them until I get a stand for my 125 gallon. Their very healthy, One is 15 inches the other is 12 inches. And still growing!

i raised pacus also for about 8 years... i just wanted to let you know... just how big your pacu are going to get... one of mine was 36 inches across and the other just slightly smaller...here is their pic.... they get HUGE!.. i would love to see pics of yours when you can..sounds like one of them might be a black pacu... have any questions let me know and nice to meet you.
