has anyone here had paddle fish?what do you feed them. i am going to try to feed them fry food.do u think it will work?

you can try minnows if the paddlefish is big enough. Put plants on the side of the tank so that the paddlefish doesnt hurt its snout banging through the glass. From what ive heard, its not easy raising one. Best of luck to you !

ya i know, the people i got it from said average is 2-20 pounds but ive seen them 90 pounds. the smallest one is 2 inches.ill try to post pics.

They told you wrong because paddle fish get muh larger then 20lbs! Even a 20lb paddlefish is larger then you think because they are cartiligenous (sp) fish so, like sharks, are lighter for their size. My step dad goes paddle fish fishing in the Missouri with some of his buisness partners (BTW the lucky bastard hates it!) and they catch some monsters. My step dads fish that was nearly 6ft long counting bill "only" weighed 65lbs.

Paddlefish are mostly filter feeders. They eat mostly plankton. I think you would have a tough time.

thats why i want to try fry food its a powdered formula. it works for some of my other fresh water filter feeders.
