Painless euthanasia

I have an Oscar fish that is suffering pretty badly right now from HITH and being picked on now that he is so weak. I think that I am going to go ahead and euthanize him but want to know if there is a better way to do it than freezing or suffocating him.

What is the best way to go about euthanizing him?
 
clove oil to put him out, then put him in the freezer.

did you end up seperating him from the fish pickin on him and put him in a qurantine tank or anything like that? Sorry if youve tried it already but it wasnt mentioned in your post. Gotta try everything you can you know?
