I got turned onto Krylon Fusion and I'm now a huge fan.

If painting the outside of the tank I always use a water based black emulsion, couple of coats does it. If need be it can be peeled off easy.

i also used behr black semigloss for a couple of my tanks. looks fantastic, after about 4 coats it should be good. i did 6 coats to be sure i was seeing light coming through till the 4th. get a foam roller, i noticed with he reg roller it didn't get spread good enough.

Funny, I used Krylon Fusion blue, two coats and covered perfectly.

Yeah, haven't tried the Fusion. Good thing about painting the back of the tank is that it don't matter if you get runs or drips; you wont see them from the inside!!!!

I used rustoleum latex based paint and a roller. It did take several coats - didnt 'stick' all that well at first. But works fines and easily peels off if thats desirable. I'm not sure since I am not at home but I estimate I used maybe a half of the can on my 240.
