Will someone let me know how the ACUTALLY do it? I've always wondered. I figured the fish were knocked out and then injected with a needle. I figure that that would take a lot of labor which would drastically raise prices. I'm not sure.

Also how are the fish like the 'Color Glow Zebra' that are Genetically Engineered breed?

Thanks:D

nice website but i could not find HOW they did it just said dipped or dyed i want to see a vid or pcs or at least a detailed description of how

The fish are taken from a holding tank and dipped into an acidic solution which burns off thier slime coat. This makes it easier for them to inject the die. They then get a pretty big neede and inject colours under the skin of the fish. Such ways will cause a lot of deaths. The person who thought up this practice should be shot.

The dying process is very inhumane. The fish are dipped in a caustic solution that strips it of the slime coat. The fish are then dipped in a dye, then dipped in a chemical solution that irritates the skin to help the slime coat grow back. The color only lasts a few months, and the fish usually have a much shorter life span, if they survive this.

Thanks guys! I would try and avoid every fish store that sells injected fish in my area...but unfortunatley every last reperable one sells them! That is wickedly inhumane, who would think of that?

Instead of avoiding them all together, tell that why you won't shop there, or ask if they know the process is done, and how many fish die doing this? There is a chance they have no clue about it.
