So I've been looking into cool turtles and other reptiles and keep seeing these guys pop up for sale but with no info other than their great with fish and their vegetarians. Anyone got any good info on them, they seem really cool and sound like they would be perfect for a community setup with fish and other turtles.

I would make sure you have a MASSIVE filtration system on a very large tank because these guys produce a ton of waste and get huge. They are great turtles though and not a difficult species to raise if you have the facilities. I liked to use huge stock tanks. Once they settle in and relax do not be surprised if some of your slower fish start disappearing. They are not real active hunters but they are opportunistic.

They're absolutely huge tropical turtles. They need a huge amount of space and heat, otherwise they're relatively hardy. I would never attempt to keep them unless I lived in Florida or another tropical/subtropical area and had a pond to keep them in.
