Has anyone painted the inside of an acylic tank? I'm considering doing so, if it doesn't void the warranty on my tank. Granite or Quartzite tile seems so heavy. If I could achieve the same look with Krylon Fusion paint, it would be a lot less weight in the tank. Pics are from Krylon's web site.

Has anyone tried this?

yeah if you worried about voiding warranty or its your first diy painting then just paint on something you can stick to the rear of your tank just to be on the safe side whatever you decide to do try and post some pics of your build/results good luck

The back of the tank is laminated black. The tank will be on 1" thick marine plywood...which I know I can paint. Acrylic is 1.5" thick, and not much is going to show through. It will take 60 granite tiles to cover the floor (bare floor tank). If I can achieve a similar granite look Krylon, I'm probably going to do it. I just wanted to know if anyone has ever tried it.

The problem with painting acrylic is it is very hard to get it to stick with out roughing up the surface, which would probably void the warranty. I personally would paint a cheap piece of acrylic from Lowes and lay it in the bottom. That way if it starts to get crappy or you just want to change it can come back out.
