You could use poster board cut to fit.I just bought some foam insulator sheet, i am gonna paint it black.there is also added benefit of keeping temperature more stable

I already have a background. I wanted to paint it black because the prev owner used some type of adhesive to attach it and it left white swirls that won't come off. I tested a small spot with spray paint and it covered them up. I can't paint a 6 ft tank with spray paint in the house just the two sprays where overwhelming. So I thought maybe there was a type I could brush on or roll.

You can roll on 100% acrylic paint on the back of a glass aquarium, and if you ever want to remove it just peel away with a razor blade!

You can get it Home Depot or you can just use the cheap craft paint
