What is the best way to paint the back of the tank black i searched but i couldn't find a definite answer. Its a 125, just wondering if i need to put like pre coats or anything on there before i paint. Thanks for the help.

I just use Krylon Fusion spray paint. Stand back a bit to prevent runs, and boom. Give it 30 minutes and one more coat.

I'm not really sure why you would want to use spray paint designed for plastic that costs 2x as much to paint a glass tank. Latex paint is easiest to remove, can be applied inside, but costs a bit more and is more work.

go to lowes and get some cheap spray paint. i found some on the floor for .99. while youre there pick up some masking tape. go home, tape everything off that you dont want to be black, i cover everyyhint with newspaper to prevent overspray and to use less tape. stand back far enough that it wont run, but not too far or youll be using a ton of paint. wait a while, paint another coat. just keep looking through the tank to see light. its pretty simple and way cheaper than buying background. i actually paid $50 one time to have a tank tinted. i think that was a dumb idea lol
