I have a 240 that's currently running and has a tinted film used as the background wallpaper. This started to bubble so I'm thinking of removing the tint sheet and painting the tank back. Problem is, I can't move it. Has anyone painted their background on a large tank while tank is running?

I have enough space to fit a long roller and can mask up the top and side edges. But wondering if there are any other tips/advice?

Sounds like you have it figured out. I say go for it.

I have painted several tanks while they were running. Roller or brush.

I've done it several times works fine as along as it is at tropical temps. I did it once on a cold water tank which didn't go so well.

I suggest you make sure there is adequate ventilation in the room when you paint and then while the paint dries.

Thanks, this is my next step, researching paint. This will be applied to an acrylic tank. Looking for paint that will adhere and safe on acrylic and of possible the least amount of harmful fumes as this tank is in my living room.
