I have spray painted backgrounds on 6 or 7 tanks now,and I love them.
But I was wondering if anyone has used a brush to paint on a background.
I want to paint a 180,and in order to spray paint it,it will have to be outside, then brought back in.Not that this can't be done,it's just a lot of moving and seems like it would be easier to just brush on a black background inside.
Has anyone painted on a solid backgorund with a brush? If yes,how does it look? What kind of paint did you use?

Black latex paint, use a roller. It works great, but takes a while - you have to apply a thin coat, wait 10-15 minutes for it to dry and add another coat. You can't just apply one thick layer in one go, it doesn't stick to the glass well enough and you will end up making the layer thinner if you try.

It takes about 5-6 coats.

Yes, definitely use a roller. I used one one my 125, and it worked great. I tried a brush on my 75, and it took probably 10+ coats.

I have heard latex may peel off over time.Is this not true?
When I have spray painted tanks,I have always used enamel.
