I'm going to be drilling my tank tomorrow and probably going to go a head and paint it as well. I was wondering how you all painted the backs, do you roll, brush, or spray paint? I know I'm going to be using an acrylic paint just not sure of the best way to apply it, but obviously if I get spray paint, there can only be one way to do it..

You can do any way that you choose. I have rolled, brushed and sprayed tanks. They all work about the same. Spray cans are cheap, cost about $3 or three cans to paint my tank.

I was really impressed with Krylon Fusion spray paint when i painted mine. I got the flat black and it couldn't have been easier and i really like how it looks

I just bought the cheapest spray paint I could find. Worked like a champ.

If you're wanting to be able to easily remove it, then I would go with an acrylic paint.

I'm assuming that fish like painted sides? Do you guys paint three sides? I've only heard of painting tanks during behavior experiments with fish. I'm very curious about this though. Is it genuinely good for the fish?

I use several latex black paint with roller works great and easily peels off if you change your mind.

I use painted sides if I have two tanks of adult fish right next to each other. I remember when I didn't my piranha would try to each the fish in the other tank.

Sounds great people, and I assume when you spray paint it you all will do light coats of it until it's dark enough instead of just going as dark as you can at the beginning right?
